The Board of Directors of the National Institute for Health Specialties, during its second meeting 2021 chaired by H. E. Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Board Chairman, adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations, including forming new specialized scientific committees for Radiology, Anesthesia, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Neurology, Hematology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, and Clinical pharmacy. The Board also reviewed the Institute's progress report and the future plan according to the four strategic themes: governance, programs, accreditation, and evaluation.

Dr. Mohammad Al Houqani, the institute’s Secretary General, presented the road map for accreditation to certification, and the Institute's readiness to launch institutional accreditation services. Training Institutes can start the application through the Institute’s website NIHS.UAEU.AC.AE
