Sharjah, UAE – June 29, 2025
The National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) successfully conducted a two-day intensive workshop titled “NIHS Certified Item Author and Case Designer: Hands-on Training Workshop” on June 28–29, 2025, at the Training and Development Center (TDC) of Emirates Health Services (EHS) in Sharjah.
Led by Dr. Fadi Munshi, a renowned expert in medical education and assessment, the workshop brought together a distinguished group of medical educators, clinical practitioners, and members of the NIHS Scientific and Examination Subcommittees. The program aimed to strengthen participants’ competencies in constructing high-quality multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and structured clinical cases in alignment with the standards of the NIHS Comprehensive Clinical Examination (CCE).
Through a blend of interactive lectures, hands-on exercises, and collaborative peer review, the workshop enabled participants to develop valid, reliable, and outcome-based assessment tools grounded in clinical reasoning and principles of competency-based education. NIHS extends its sincere appreciation to Emirates Health Services for their generous support and for hosting the workshop at their Training and Development Center, which significantly contributed to the event’s success.
The Institute also expresses gratitude to all attendees for their active engagement, insightful input, and commitment to advancing the quality of health professions education.
