Under the chairmanship of H. E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi - Minister of Education, the Board of Directors of the National Institute for Health Specialties held a meeting this morning, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 - via videoconference, in the presence of the members of the Board, which consists of representatives of health authorities: H. E. Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector,, H. E. Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi - Undersecretary of the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, H. E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal - Director General of the Emirates Health Services, Dr. Marwan AlMulla. CEO of Health Regulation Sector. at the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas Advisor to the Ministry of Education and Director of the Commission for Academic Accreditation, Dr. Ghanem Ali Al Hassani, Chair of The Local Scientific Committee and SEHA's Group Education and Research Director, Mr. Jamal Abdulsalam, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City, Prof. Mohammed Hassan Al Qassim - Representative of the UAE University, and Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani- Secretary General of the National Institute for Health Specialties.
During the meeting, the attendants discussed many important issues, most notably the achievements of the National Institute for Health Specialties according to the strategic themes, which included accreditation of 9 health institutions, namely: Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Zayed Military Hospital, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Tawam Hospital, Corniche Hospital, Seha Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD), and Emirates Health Services.
In addition, the institute accredited 3 residency programs: Pediatrics program of SSMC, Pediatrics program of SKMC, and Family Medicine program of AHS. Moreover, the institute admitted new scientific specializations, such as: Respiratory, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Nursing & Midwifery. The board reviewed the implementation plan for the strategic plan initiatives, and the Education and Human Resources Council outcomes and recommendations.
