Dr. Mohammad Al-Houqani, Secretary General of the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) has introduced to the faculty members at Tawam Hospital the NIHS strategic vision as a national institute that is assigned for leading and organizing the professional development of the healthcare staff in the country. He said that NIHS attaches great importance of reviewing and adhering to policies and accreditation requirements to improve the quality of medical education.
He explained, “This workshop further enhances efforts and action plans to improve the physicians and health professionals’ levels in various specialties, in cooperation with educational institutions, and medical and health authorities inside and outside the country.
During the workshop, he introduced the NIHS E-Services including workshops to prepare and develop residents and faculty members skills in medical examinations. He also introduced the institutional and program accreditation, in addition to field visits to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. This aims at encouraging the healthcare staff to continue their professional career and graduate studies in specialized health fields. At the end of the workshop, NIHS honored 10 NIHS-accredited Surveyors at Tawam Hospital after they successfully completed the prescribed courses.
